Tomorrow is the last day of March, so I thought now it would be a good time to write an update on my training for the London Marathon 2025. March is the third month of my training, I think it’s the most intensive one so far.
Running stats
Let’s start with the numbers. Looking at my stats from Strava, I did 243 km in March, spending 33 hours moving. That’s pretty good for me, and I feel like I’m making some progress. Maybe not as much as I would like, but at least it’s something.

I definitely feel tired after this month, experiencing random aches and pains in my legs. But, the training gods demand sacrifices, so I guess I have to deal with it.
Long runs
This month had 5 weekends, so that means 5 long runs needed to be done. I did all 5 of them: 19 km, 21 km, 24 km, 26 km and 28 km.
My pace on those runs is quite slow, but as for now, I’m not too worried about it. My goal is still just to finish the distance, so hopefully I’m still on the right track.

Most of the runs were done in the area near where I live, but I have one extra highlight from last week to share.
I went again to the Seven Sisters cliffs and did the long run there, running from Seaford to Eastbourne.

This was the longest distance from the long run so far, 28 km. The weather was bit challenging, with a bit of rain in the beginning, but it was still a great experience.

I enjoyed the change of scenery, I think this was something I needed to refresh my mind and motivation.
Next month
April is the last month of my training before the marathon. Next week I need to do the longest long run, probably in the range of 32-34 km. It’ll definitely be a challenging one, but I’m committed to doing it regardless of how long it takes. After that hopefully it’ll be easier with the final 3 weeks of tapering before the marathon.
So wish me luck, and I’ll see you in the next update. Until then, keep running!
